      I read a book about a host of 18th Century British radical Whigs, The Eighteenth Century Commonwealthman, by Caroline Robbins, and it was suggested in there that Issac Watts at least had some sympathies with the Unitarian movement as to the . Isaac Watts (17 July – 25 November ) was an English pastor, preacher, poet, and hymn writer. He is often called the "Father of English Hymnody": he was the first popular English hymn e of his short height and large head, in all his portraits Isaac Watts wore a large gown. He wrote about hymns including When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, Am I a Soldier of the Cross.

    If you are like me and know very little about Isaac Watts other than his name and perhaps one or two of the hymns that he wrote, I want to commend to you an incredibly helpful little book by Douglas Bond: The Poetic Wonder of Isaac Watts. The book comes as the 6th in the series, “A Long Line of Godly Men,” published by Reformation Trust /5(45). Rev. Dr. Isaac Deas was a very respected part of the juvenile justice system, his church, his community, and his extended family. But, he was hiding a dirty ugly destructive secret, drug addiction.
